I did my Bachelors in Mathematics in Bremen and my Masters at Uni Bonn. I am currently doing my PhD in Mathematics at Uni Bonn, focusing on Numerical Methods and Stochastics. I also took courses in programming (C++/Python) and scientific computing, and I use C++/Python (e.g. Jupyter) for my day-to-day work..
Experience
During my studies, I was a teaching assistant for some of my Bachelor level math courses, where I had to hold exercise groups and prepare and grade homeworks. I taught SAT/ACT Mathematics to the foundation year students in the university. These students had passed high school and were preparing to start their university studies. I took SAT and TOEFL myself, so my experience also helps me in this regard. I also taught two Abitur (grade 12/13) students, two international baccalaureate (IB) students (from BIS Bonn), one grade 5 student and two grade 8 students, during my Masters, so that experience comes in handy. Two of the IB students are currently studying in Cologne Business school (CBS) and I help them with the Math courses that one has to take in the first few semesters of the Study program. In general, I am also open to teaching Mathematics from other curriculums, since the Mathematics does not change, only the syllabus/difficulty level does. A few topics might include: Algebra I and II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Statistics, Pre-Calculus, Linear Algebra, Analysis (Differenital, Integral) , Vector/3D calculus etc. My aim is to be a professor one day. Teaching has always been something that I loved and I think that the experiences that I gain from teaching will help me get one step closer to my dream. It is a joy to see, when the student does well, and it is because of my effort (and the student's of course). Such experiences also teaches you different ways of teaching methods that work for different age groups. I speak English, German, Hindi, Bengali and Telugu. I am learning a bit of Japanese currently.
